GoGoX sees 25% year-on-year surge in luggage delivery orders during Easter holiday

The outbound travel boom among Hongkongers returned in full force this Easter, with the Immigration Department recording millions of cross-boundary movements over the holiday. As many citizens opted to travel abroad, demand for luggage delivery services saw a sharp increase, with GoGoX’s luggage delivery orders registering strong year-on-year growth.
During the Easter public holiday from 18 to 21 April, luggage delivery orders between urban areas and the airport via the GoGoX platform rose by 25% year-on-year. Many travelers took advantage of the “take 4, get 10” leave strategy to create a long holiday, driving a further spike in GoGoX bookings between 14 and 24 April, with overall luggage delivery orders surging 14% compared to the same period last year. Among the districts, Tseung Kwan O, Tin Shui Wai, and Tsuen Wan saw particularly high demand, with year-on-year growth ranging from 15% to 32%. The most significant surges were recorded in Tsing Yi (113%), To Kwa Wan (79%), and Yau Tong (48%).
Ming Tse, Director of Platform at GoGoX, said, “This year’s Easter break allowed people to enjoy extended holidays with minimal leave, encouraging more family trips and increased baggage needs. GoGoX vehicles can carry up to 15 pieces of luggage per trip, making the service especially suitable for families or travelers returning from shopping sprees abroad. We expect continued positive growth in travel-related orders throughout 2025.”
Labour Day Golden Week expected to bring inbound boost, GoGoX Business logistics solutions support SMEs in scaling operations
While the Easter exodus boosted overseas spending, it posed challenges for local retail and F&B sectors concerned about losing foot traffic and sales. However, with Golden Week around the corner and a line-up of traditional festivities and cultural events scheduled in May and June, inbound tourism is set to rise again.
Many local SMEs are already gearing up to welcome tourists and drive consumption. They have turned to GoGoX Business for customized enterprise logistics solutions that help control operational costs while providing flexible delivery options. One example is a client from the FMCG industry that has adopted GoGoX Business’s end-to-end warehousing, picking and packing, and delivery services. Through packaged offers, the company can reduce storage expenses and efficiently deliver goods to airport shops and other tourist hotspots.
Alice Ong, Regional Business Director at GoGoX, said, “While the Easter period posed challenges for local retailers and restaurants, the upcoming Golden Week is expected to inject a fresh wave of tourists and spending into the market. Many SMEs are ramping up operations and choosing GoGoX Business for its flexible, efficient logistics solutions. Amid challenges such as outbound consumption and rising logistics costs, GoGoX is committed to providing cost-effective, end-to-end services — from warehousing to picking, packing and delivery — to help businesses thrive in a competitive landscape. To support this growth, GoGoX Business expanded into a new warehouse with double the space in March, boosting storage and handling capabilities to meet enterprise demand.”
